I had the honor of working as one of the creative leads for ESPN’s NBA rebrand. We created a dynamic basketball arena of the future centered around a physical logo prop of “Jerry” on an XR stage.
Filming at XR Studios in Los Angeles and using Unreal Engine opened up the possibility of creating custom setups in the environment to highlight the unique design language of the rebrand. The approach of interpreting the rebrand on an XR stage and filming the custom setups added a nuanced look to the entire package.
